They’re baaaaack — the 2016 edition of Civic Center EATS, which brings dozens of food trucks into downtown Denver on summer weekdays, launches May 3.
This year is bigger in a couple of respects.
For starters, the lineup includes 79 food purveyors. They won’t all be there on every day, but will rotate regularly, giving Mile High workers an array of noshing opportunities.
And for the first time, the usual Tuesday-Thursday truck schedule will be supplemented by Wednesday visits.
The trucks will be there Tuesdays-Thursday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. from May 3-Oct. 6. The only excluded days are June 2, Aug. 31, Sept. 1 and Sept. 6.
The lineup is impressive. Five Asian food trucks are participating, with cuisine from Vietnam and the Philippines represented. From Europe, crepes and pierogis and Pavio’s Taste of Ukraine. Africa is represented by The Ethiopian Food Truck and The Pikine Grill.
And this being the West, there are six barbecue trucks.
Produced by the non-profit Civic Center Conservancy, this is the 11th year for Civic Center EATS.
