Magical mystery truck break-ins. A man living in the 700 block of Walden Court, Highlands Ranch, reported someone broke into his locked 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee in front of his home on March 16. The car had been entered while locked at least 12 times over six months and he can’t figure out how. Nothing was taken.

Tricky thieves enter family vehicles. A family living in the 500 block of Apollo Court, Douglas County, reported both their cars were illegally entered in front of their home overnight March 16. There were no signs of forced entry. One car had a window rolled down, which would have required a key fob.

Wandering wallet. A man living in the 600 block of Scorpio Drive, Douglas County, said his neighbor came over on March 16 and gave him his wallet, which she found in her car. Someone had taken it from his unlocked truck before breaking into the neighbor’s car.

Med card hustle. A woman received medical care at OnPoint Urgent Care, 9137 S. Ridgeline Blvd., Highlands Ranch, on March 15 and paid using a special health account spending card. She immediately got a text from what she thought was her health account company asking her to verify the visit. She called the number and gave her account and Social Security numbers. She realized it was a scam and canceled the card.

License plate lifted. A couple brought their boat trailer to Great Lakes Marine, 12294 Mead Way, Highlands Ranch, in October. It wasn’t until March 25 that they saw the license plate, previously secured with heavy zip ties, was stolen.
