The University of Colorado A-line train to Denver International Airport was down for about 45 minutes Tuesday afternoon.
The train service was stopping at Gateway Station at East 40th Avenue and Airport, but was operating again by 5:20 p.m.
In a Twitter posting at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday, RTD said the service interruption began at about 4:20 p.m. and that bus shuttles were in place between the station and the airport.
RTD apologized for the inconvenience.
Nate Currey, a spokesman for RTD, said the service interrruption was due to a switch malfunction.
“They happen all across the country everyday,” Currey said. “They’re usually quick to fix.”
