I fully support the issuance of semiautomatic rifles to Douglas County schools security officers. We live in a different world now and we need to be realistic. What I don t understand or agree with, however, is the plan to keep the rifles locked in patrol cars. First a decision to deploy — and then a mad rush to the cars to retrieve them and then back into the building? Really?
