A 20-year-old Cañon City man has been arrested on suspicion of several charges — including driving under the influence — that killed one person and seriously injured three others earlier this week.
Jerome Grant Blasingime is also suspected of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault and reckless driving in the case, according to the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Blasingime was driving a 1999 Ford Taurus that crashed Monday night in Rockvale, a town west of Florence.
The wreck killed 22-year-old Rodley Cornell and left two teenage women and a 58-year-old man with injuries so serious they were taken to medical care via helicopter.
The three remain hospitalized, authorities said Friday.
The wreck happened about 9 p.m. Monday on the 1000 block of Churchill Avenue when Blasingime struck a parked, unoccupied pickup truck, investigators said.
