Authorities are investigating the Friday death of a 9-month-old boy who was found unresponsive at a southern Colorado in-home day care facility.
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called about 9:30 a.m. to the 4700 block of Drivers Road in Florence where they found the infant.
Investigators say the child was transported to St. Thomas More Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The day care’s name was not released, but authorities say it was licensed. Further information was not released.
A sheriff’s office spokeswoman did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
The sheriff’s office says an investigation into the death is ongoing.
