Forecasters are calling for sun in Denver — finally — after a winter weather system that socked in the Front Range over the weekend brought snow and cold.

The National Weather Service in Boulder says temperatures will hit a high near 56 degrees on Monday in the Denver metro.

Sunshine is expected to stick around this week with temperatures rising into the 70s by Wednesday, forecasters say.

“A warming and drying trend will get underway Tuesday and remain in place through Thursday,” the weather service said in a forecast bulletin.

A storm system moving into the Front Range on Friday will bring a chance of thunderstorms and showers into the weekend.
