A woman was hit by an RTD bus Tuesday afternoon in Denver at the busy intersection of Broadway and Colfax Avenue.

The collision happened at about 3 p.m. on the southeast corner of the intersection, said Raquel Lopez, a Denver Police Department spokeswoman.

The woman wound up under the front of the bus, which was making a turn from Broadway onto eastbound Colfax.

Police had a lane of the intersection blocked off as the accident was investigated.

The woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital, said Nate Curry, an RTD spokesman.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Further details on the woman’s injuries were not immediately available.
