Eaglecrest in Centennial has announced the hiring of Robby Gabrielli as our new head girls basketball coach, according to athletic director Vince Orlando.
Gabrielli was a program assistant with the Eaglecrest boys team from 2009-12 and 2014-16. He has coached at all levels of the program — freshman, sophomore and junior varsity-varsity assistant. In his final two seasons as a lower-level head coach, Gabrielli amassed a 27-9 record, leading to a regular-season Centennial League title and league tournament runner-up finish with freshmen in 2012.
He also helped develop players on the Raptors’ state-championship team in 2013 as well as their final four team in 2015 and state runner-up group the past March. Eaglecrest fell to Overland in the final at the University of Colorado’s Coors Events Center.
Over the last 12 years, Gabrielli has worked as a sports television professional in various roles, including sat NBA TV, Altitude Sports & Entertainment and the Phoenix Suns.
