Zak Bigelow, a former kicker at Dakota Ridge in Littleton, has been named head football coach at Fossil Ridge in Fort Collins.

A native of Littleton, . He was named a Class 4A first team kicker by The Denver Post in 2005. He went on to the University of Northern Colorado from 2006-09, was with the Oregon State football team the past two seasons and had nearly three more with Tulsa

Bigelow comes after after two consecutive 5-5 seasons. His dimissal sparked an earlier at Poudre School District main offices.

Bigelow’s hiring comes among a parade of movement — Fossil Ridge athletic director Ken Denning resigned last month and will be done in June, according to the Fort Collins Coloradoan, and District AD Ron Alexander will be done at the end of June.

In another northern-area move, popular football coach Chris Jones, who led Windsor to the 4A title a year ago and another in 3A in 2011, .

Jones will be teaching at Rocky Mountain in Fort Collins and lives in that area.

The Wizards were 81-29 in his nine years and recognized as a regular power.
