Obama will become the first US president to visit atomic bomb-struck Hiroshima during a trip to Hiroshima later this month, the White House said May 11, 2016. “The President will make an historic visit to Hiroshima with Prime Minister (Shinzo) Abe to highlight his continued commitment to pursuing the peace and security of a world without nuclear weapons,” said spokesman Josh Earnest.
