The Denver-area nonprofit that manages funds for people with disabilities has named a new executive director following a damaging city audit five months ago.
Shari Repinski, who has served as interim director of Rocky Mountain Human Services since the former director was placed on leave a year ago, was named to the post.
The nonprofit’s board said in a statement that Repinski “will continue to lead the organization to a place of stability and health.”
She has cut spending by 17 percent since taking charge, reducing the number of employees by 25 percent. Repinski also reduced employee benefits that included Costco memberships, food and meeting expenses and the executive salary and benefits package. Rocky Mountain restructured its health insurance plan and ended its retirement fund contribution for employees.
The community-centered board is one of 20 statewide that manages services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It receives $20 million from the state Medicaid department, $5.4 million from the state general fund and $10 million in city mill levy funds.
