The Denver Fire Department pulled a man from the South Platte River, near 38th Avenue, at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday, and took him to Denver Health Medical Center.

The crew performed CPR on the man before transporting him to the hospital, said Melissa Taylor, department spokeswoman.

She didn’t know if he survived or how he came to be in the river. Late Thursday evening there was no update on his condition.
