A pair of armed bank robbers threatened tellers’ lives during a “takeover” robbery Thursday morning in Westminster.

The incident happened at about 10 a.m. at Vectra Bank, 3300 W. 72nd Ave., according to a FBI media release.

The two robbers, both men, wore gloves, hoods and masks during the robbery. They fled with cash in a stolen vehicle, which was later recovered.

Investigators describe one suspect as about 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing dark clothing, a dark jacket, gray sweatshirt, gloves, athletic shoes with red details and a red bandana over his face.

The second suspect is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, he wore dark clothing, a black sweatshirt, gloves, white sunglasses with colored lenses and a black bandana covering over his face. He carried a black bag similar to a computer satchel.

Anyone with information on the robbery or on possible suspects is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720 913-STOP (7867).
