Lochbuie police have arrested a woman on two misdemeanor child-abuse counts after a video surfaced on Facebook and YouTube of her allegedly abusing her toddler son.

The Weld County District Attorney intends to charge Katrina Flores Kennedy, 27, in the incident.

The arrest affidavit states that a friend of Kennedy supplied the video to another friend, who alerted police. Police were alerted of the video on May 9 and arrested Kennedy Wednesday evening.

A. C. Ramirez, of the Lochbuie Police Department, states in the arrest affidavit that the video shows Kennedy raising a booster chair and violently slamming it into the playpen on or near the boy and returning to “hit on or around” the child.

The affidavit states that Kennedy is heard on the video hurling epithets to those nearby and saying,”I’m going to kill you.”

Police talked to a witness who said she cared for the child from May 2 to May 7 and took pictures of his bruised body. Police said they found the toddler’s right and left arms were bruised as well as the back of the legs. The child also had dark spots on his forehead, according to the affidavit.

Kennedy told police that the child was in the custody of Denver Human Services. She added that an undisclosed social service agency has been involved in the past.

Kennedy appeared via video in front of Judge Dana Nichols Thursday afternoon, the DA’s office said. She was advised of her rights and the court set her bond at $3,000. A mandatory protection order was issued that states Kennedy is not have any contact with her sonor anyone under the age of 18. Her next court date is May 27.
