The Front Range classical scene is rich in , chamber and symphonic music, but there’s always been something of a hole when it comes to the art song, those stand-alone gems from the great composers in the canon. Enter the the Denver Art Song Project, a new group founded in 2015 by tenor Eapen Leubner, a recent transplant to the city. The ensemble introduces itself to new audiences next week with a June 2 concert of Beethoven and Donaudy songs and a June 4 event Schubert’s “Die schöne Müllerin” song cycle. The group comes with its own arrangements, so expect innovative takes on the music. 6 p.m. June 2, Syntax Physic Opera, 554 S. Broadway and 7 p.m. June 4, Wash Park Center for Music and Arts 400 S.
