A two-alarm fire that burned a log cabin under construction in western Eagle County on Tuesday afternoon sent flames shooting into the air and prompted evacuations.
The blaze happened near the Dotsero Mayne Trailer Park along Interstate 70 and was first reported to authorities about 1:45 p.m. The Greater Eagle Fire Protection District said explosions were reported.
Photos from the scene showed black smoke and flames shooting from a structure.
“The cabin, two storage trailers and one crane nearby are considered to be a complete loss,” the fire district said in a news release. “An additional crane sustained an unknown amount of damage. At this time fire crews are working to contain the fire.”
Officials say the cause of the fire is under investigation. There were no injuries reported.
Several fire and law enforcement agencies responded to the blaze.
