Third fatality confirmed in Arvada house fire

A third fatality from a fire at an Arvada home on May 14 has been confirmed, according to the Arvada Fire Department.

Cristina Covington, 24, was the third victim, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office said Wednesday.

According to the coroner, Covington died May 21 from injuries sustained in the house fire, believed to be a combination of smoke inhalation and burns.

Firefighters first responded to the house fire on the corner of Robb Street and Allendale Drive on May 14 at about 1:30 a.m.

The fire also claimed the lives of two other victims; 39-year-old Tanya Marie Bell and an unidentified 4-year-old girl.

Six people in total were taken to area hospitals.
