A Weld District Court judge sentenced a 31-year-old Evans man to 40 years in prison Friday for sexually assaulting his step nieces.
Judge Shannon Lyons followed a plea agreement and sentenced the Evans man to 40 years in prison, followed by five years of parole and lifetime registry as a sexual offender, according to a release from the Weld District Attorney’s Office.
The Tribune is withholding the man’s name so as to not identify the victims.
The man pleaded guilty to two counts of assault, sexual exploitation of a child and sexual assault on a child-attempt, all felonies.
