The sun will shine on the Front Range through the rest of the Memorial Day holiday, but some showers and thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening hours, according to the National Weather Service.

The high temperature is expected to top out at 77 degrees on both Sunday and Monday, said Jim Kalina, NWS meteorologist.

“Tuesday will be back into the 60s, and there will still be a 30 percent chance of showers and storms. Wednesday is another cool day, but the chance of showers decreases,” Kalina said.

Thursday through Saturday are expected to rise into the 70s and 80s, Kalina said.

It will be cooler in higher elevations, with temperatures in the 50s on Sunday and a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms.

On Monday, the chance of wet weather will increase to 60 percent, Kalina said.

Tuesday and Wednesday are expected to bring scattered storms before things begin to dry out Thursday.
