Interview with Matt Meraz, managing member
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: It started as a childhood hobby. We found a lack of U.S.-based support for the sport and we decided to open a store to support the U.S. customer base.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: We provide the full solution for becoming involved in Airsoft. This includes a place to play, equipment and training. Our mission is to be unmatched in providing quality Airsoft solutions.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: I love meeting new people and seeing the excitement in their eyes when they become involved in the sport. When they begin playing, they become a part of a community — something larger than themselves.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: The biggest challenge is communicating what Airsoft is — most people don’t have an understanding of what that word means or entails. Airsoft is a fast-paced, action sport that involves military simulations. It appeals to not only youth, but current and prior service members as well. They can do it for fun or for training. If you want to find out more about the sport, we have a great resource on our website at www.foxairsoft.com/play. You can also text BBWARS to 85775 to learn more about the sport.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A. We’ve been doing this for 10 years and have played in Airsoft events all over the world — people probably don’t realize that they have this resource right in their backyard.
