Firefighters extinguished a residential fire Wednesday afternoon in Northglenn, which started in a mattress in the basement.

The fire was reported at 3:48 p.m. at 804 Malley Drive, said Steve Gosselin, a North Metro Fire Rescue District spokesman.

When firefighters arrived at the scene there was heavy smoke inside the single-family home, Gosselin said.

Firefighters entered the home and extinguished the fire.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
