Douglas Pendergast, who has led Quiznos since January 2015, has resigned to spend more time with his family in Atlanta, the Denver fast casual restaurant company announced Thursday.

Chief financial officer Katie Scherping has been named interim president and CEO.

This is the company’s fourth leadership change in six years.

Pendergast, considered a turnaround specialist for struggling restaurants, joined Quiznos from the Atlanta-based burger chain The Krystal Co. He joined the company after, . Mathis replaced , who was hired in 2010 to replace founder Rick Schaden.

Quiznos chairman Doug Benham said in a news release that Pendergastap work has created a stronger company.

“Under his leadership, we’ve accomplished several major brand initiatives to help advance our business. We thank Doug for his dedication to the Quiznos brand and have full confidence in Katie and the management team to continue the brand on a successful path forward.”

Scherping led Quiznos’ financial restructuring in 2014 and helped overhaul the company’s food cost and supply chain model. Most recently, she led the rollout of Quiznos’ new national point-of-sale system,
