
A Denver judge on Friday sentenced a man to life in prison without parole for shooting and killing a 29-year-old woman at a motel on East Colfax Avenue.
Brandon Foote, 30, was of first-degree murder after deliberation, first-degree felony murder and first-degree burglary. The judge also sentenced Foote to an additional 32 years, according to the Denver district attorney’s office.
On June 25, 2015, officers were , 8415 East Colfax Ave., on reports of shots fired. Shortly after, they found Camille Harrell a block away from the motel suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Harrell died from her injuries.
Prosecutors argued that the motel room where Harrell’s sister was staying. Foote assaulted Harrell inside the hotel room. After the altercation, he left the room. Foote later returned, found Harrell and killed her.
A woman who was with Foote, 36-year-old Merita Curry-Swanson, also has been charged with first-degree felony murder and first-degree burglary. Her trial is expected to begin this month.
