Denver police were investigating an incident Saturday afternoon at the corner of East Colfax Avenue and Colorado Boulevard in which at least one person was shot.

When officers arrived on scene, near a Conoco gas station, one person was found suffering from a gunshot wound, police spokesman Tyrone Campbell said. The initial call came in around 2:35 p.m. Saturday.

The victim was transported to a local hospital. The severity of the injuries was not immediately known.

Another gunshot victim walked into St. Joseph Hospital a little while later, but police are not yet sure whether the two incidents are related, Campbell said. The hospital is less than two miles from the gas station.

“Based on the timing and the proximity, we’re always suspicious, but we have no way to connect it,” Campbell said. “We’re examining every single angle we can.”
