Rockies RHP Eddie Butler (2-3, 5.65 ERA) at Dodgers LHP Julio Arias (0-1, 9.39), 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, ROOT; 850 AM
At age 25, Butler is young, but Urias is really young. The 19-year-old southpaw got roughed up in New York and Chicago in his first two big-league starts, but manager Dave Roberts saw enough to give Urias another shot. “To get him a start here at home is great for him and great for us,” Roberts told the “He deserves it. He didn’t get the results he would have liked the first two starts, but the way he threw the ball, the way he competes and the way he handled himself in New York and Chicago, we want to see him again.” Urias, rated as the No. 1 prospect by Baseball America, was battered for three runs and five hits in 2 2-3 innings against the Mets in a 6-5 loss. He lasted five innings against the Cubs but gave up three homers and five total runs in a 7-2 Chicago victory.
