The Denver Post has been nominated for eight local Emmy Awards, including “Overall Excellence” in the 2016 contest by the Heartland Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Gregory Moore, , is nominated along with KWTV in Oklahoma City under CEO Rob Krier; KUSA under general manager Mark Cornetta; and KDVR under vice president/news director Holly Gauntt.
In the prestigious journalistic enterprise category, nominees are KUSA’s Anastasiya Bolton, KCNC’s Brian Maass, KDVR’s Rob Low and KUSA’s Chris Vanderveen.
The Post was also nominated for technology and environment news stories, human interest features, topical documentary, short-form editing and photography by Lindsay Pierce and sports photography by AAron Ontiveroz.
ճ were once the province of television stations but now include entries by local fire and police departments, educational outlets and, increasingly, digital publications.
The Denver Post won in four categories, upstaging local TV outlets for best human interest series, documentary, feature segment, and tied with Channel 9 for short-form editing. Last year, , but KUSA took top honors.
Winners will be announced in a ceremony on July 16.
