She was outgoing and responsible, a person younger 4-H participants looked up to as a mentor — that’s what those who knew Ashley Doolittle through the Boulder County 4-H community say about her.
Fellow 4-H participants and friends gathered last week during a previously planned ride to mourn together through talk, silence, prayer and tears, following the Berthoud 18-year-old’s murder last week.
Doolittle’s mother, Ann Marie, evening and found her car unoccupied at Lon Hagler Reservoir in Loveland. Her body was later found in the back of a truck that ex-boyfriend 18-year-old had in his possession.
Flores, who was arrested Friday by Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies and is being held without bond in the Mesa County Jail on suspicion of and second-degree kidnapping, was reportedly “distraught” with the recent breakup with Doolittle.
