Tanner Flores, who is accused of killing his ex-girlfriend because she broke up with him, appeared via webcam in front of a judge at the Larimer County Justice Center Monday afternoon in Fort Collins.

Flores, 18, is being held without bail in the Larimer County jail on suspicion of first-degree murder, felony murder and second-degree kidnapping in connection with the death of Ashley Doolittle, 18.

He will be charged in person at 8:15 a.m. Thursday in Larimer County District Court, according to the district attorney’s office.

Tanner Flores was booked into the Larimer County Jail at 2:36 p.m. on June 17 on charges of murder in the First Degree, Felony Murder and Second Degree Kidnapping. (Larimer County Sheriff's Office)

Mesa County deputies arrested Flores on June 10 after Doolittle’s body was found in Collbran.

He has admitted to shooting Doolittle near Carter Lake, in Larimer County, then driving her body to Collbran, where he was arrested. He was moved from Mesa County to Larimer County on June 17.

Flores was upset that Doolittle had broken up with him after a relationship that had lasted more than a year, a friend of his told investigators, according to an arrest affidavit.

The sheriff’s office began investigating June 9, when Doolittle’s mother called to say the teen was missing and that she had found her car at Lon Hagler Reservoir in Larimer County.
