
Snack time. Loss prevention at Walmart, 10400 E. Colfax Ave., called police June 1 because they caught a man trying to steal Hostess Snack Cakes and a bottle of chocolate milk. He was ticketed.
Fake warning signs. Someone walked into a man’s unlocked garage June 3 in the 1700 block of North Hanover Street and stole hundreds of dollars worth of power tools. The man had video surveillance signs on his property but didn’t actually have a camera or security system.
Bullet holes. Police were called June 7 to a construction site at 33rd and Revere Streets because someone shot a hole through the foreman trailer. Officers couldn’t find a bullet, and there are no suspects.
Missing appliances. The manager of an apartment complex in the 2000 block of South Oswego Way accused two former tenants of stealing the washer and dryer from their unit before moving out June 1. There was no evidence.
Abandoned van. Property managers at a mobile home park in the 1700 block of Roosevelt Way called a towing company to removed a dumped van June 1. The van turned out to be stolen, so police impounded it.
Lost purse. A woman left her $400 purse on a bench in the locker room at the 24 Hour Fitness at 15900 E. Briarwood Circle and found that it was stolen when she came back after her workout June 7. There are no suspects.
