Denver firefighters on Wednesday afternoon recovered a body from the South Platte River.
The city’s fire department said the body was in the area of West Eighth Avenue and Zuni Street in the city’s Sun Valley neighborhood.
Denver police say the death is a possible drowning. Doug Schepman, a police department spokesman, said the body was that of a man.

His name has not been released.
Melissa Taylor, a fire department spokeswoman, said officials don’t know how the man died or how long he had been in the water.
