Millennials and Milwaukee love Denver.

The Mile High City came in No. 8 in of millennials’ “perfect” cities, falling behind giants the likes of No. 1 New York City and No. 2 San Francisco, but beating out San Diego and Boston.

Madison, Wis.-based apartment hunting service surveyed 2,000 people born from 1982 to 1998 using the website Survey Monkey.

ABODO looked at where respondents were living and cities they viewed as “perfect” and found Denver was the dream city of most Milwaukee participants.

The survey then gave a menu 20 characteristics and asked respondents to pick the 10 that mattered most. A thriving job market and affordable rent topped the list, which also included parks, local restaurants and quality pizza.

“Millennials might be described as lazy, entitled or selfish, and our study shows that itap clearly important to them to have a thriving job market,” ABODO spokesman Sam Radbil said. “Maybe that is not the label that this group should be tagged with.”

Taking those qualities, ABODO then used a variety of outside sources, such as the , and , to determine which cities fit millennials’ criteria.

Denver dropped to No.15, meeting 75 percent of millennials’ wish list. Philadelphia should be the millennials’ favorite, as it met 95 percent of their desired qualities, yet it lands as No.17 on the list.

“Maybe the most interesting piece of this study is that millennials might not even know that there are those great cities, like Philadelphia and D.C., that they might want to live in,” Radbil said.
