Outfielder Carlos Gonzalez and third baseman Nolan Arenado were selected to the list released Wednesday by a panel of 27 experts compiled by the magazine.
Gonzalez ranked No. 35: “Nobody ever wants to give CarGo the love he deserves,” MLB Network analyst Eric Byrnes said to SN.
Arenado, who in 2015 led the majors in RBIs (130) and the National League in home runs (42), came in at No. 8.
“Remarkably underrated. Most exciting player in the game after (Bryce) Harper and (Mike) Trout,” Diamondbacks broadcaster Steve Berthiaume said to SN about Arenado.
From the SN: “His combination of power and on-base prowess makes him one of the more dangerous hitters in all of baseball, while his defensive skills — he led NL third basemen in assists, putouts and double plays turned in 2015 — only add to his value.”
Trout was the top ranked player, followed by Harper. Dodgers pitcher Clayton Kershaw was the highest ranking pitcher at No. 3.
According to SN, the voting took place during the first two weeks in May. The panel members were asked to rank their top 25 players.
