A 2-year-old toddler was killed Monday night when her father accidentally drove his car into her in the parking lot of a Colorado Springs apartment complex, authorities say.
The names of the man and the child have not been released.
“It’s obviously an accident because the man was not arrested,” said Sgt. Tim Stankey, spokesman for the Colorado Springs Police Department.
The accident happened at 8:13 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex at the intersection of East Cache La Poudre Street and Knob Hill Court, according to a police report by officers in the Sand Hill Division.
The girl was taken to a hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, the report says.
Everyone involved in the accident has been identified, but no arrests have been made, according to the police report.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
