Police arrested a woman Tuesday morning following a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in Loveland after she and her 7-year-old daughter hid from police, authorities say.

Kathleen Marie White, 38, of Denver was arrested on five felony arrest warrants and for investigation of multiple charges including felony vehicular eluding, misdemeanor child abuse and driving under suspension.

White’s 7-year-old child was turned over to Larimer County Child Protective Services, said Sgt. Jeff Pyle of the Loveland Police Department.

Two Loveland Police Department vehicles sustained minor damage during the pursuit.

A Colorado State Patrol trooper pulled White over early Tuesday morning for a traffic stop at North Madison Avenue and Nickel Drive, a news release from Pyle says.

When the trooper learned that there were multiple felony warrants for White’s arrest, he called for assistance and two Loveland police officers drove to the scene of the traffic stop, he said.

But when the Loveland officers approached, White sped away. At least one of the Loveland police officers intentionally ran into White’s car in a so-called “pit maneuver,” but White continued to drive away.

White’s car later crashed through a fence and landed in a ditch filled with water in the 2400 block of East First Street.

After the crash, White led her daughter to a nearby hiding place. Loveland police searched the area and quickly found the two, Pyle said.
