Re: “,” June 18 letter to the editor.

Letter-writer Sam Hobbs deplores the adulation given Muhammad Ali. Yes, it is difficult to understand why Ali chose to be a draft-dodger. Some believe that he should have gone and fought for his country who routinely called him the N-word, refused to allow him to drink from their drinking fountains, barred him from their restaurants, and in most states did everything possible to prevent him from voting. It makes you wonder why he didn’t want to serve.
