The Rapids are giving goalkeeper Tim Howard the largest contract in club history, according to figures released by the MLS Players Union. Howard’s annual salary is equal to nearly 65 percent of what the other 19 starting MLS goalkeepers make combined. The average salary of the other 19 MLS starting goalkeepers is about 8 percent of what Howard earns annually. A closer look:
