A wildfire is burning along Colorado Route 320 between Rifle and Rulison, and the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said it may have been started by a lightning strike.

Officials have not released an estimate about the size of the fire, but it is not聽threatening any structures. Some horses have been evacuated.

Traffic in the area around 7 p.m. was hampering efforts to access and control the fire, according to a news release.

Colorado River Fire Rescue and Garfield County Sheriff鈥檚 Office are at the scene, but the fire-fighting聽efforts have been taken over by the Bureau of Land Management.
