Interview with Aaron Leger, owner
Q: How did you get involved in this business?
A: Back when Blackberrys were the hottest thing out there in the cellphone world, I had a Blackberry Bold and the screen got damaged. I did some research and, with my background as an auto mechanic, I figured I could replace the screen myself. Ever since — for the last nine years — I have been repairing all types of smartphones and tablets.
Q: What distinguishes you from other businesses in your category?
A: There are a lot of options out there for device repair. What makes us different is that our goal is to provide a fast, affordable and professional service. We obtain that by constantly searching for high-quality, low-cost parts. I personally want to provide a service for my customers that is the cheapest option when it comes to a broken phone or tablet, in the quickest time frame. A lot of our repairs are done within 20 minutes or an hour.
Q: What do you like best about your line of work?
A: The best part of what I do is handing a customer’s phone back to them and seeing their reaction. I’ve repaired thousands of devices and it still feels good to tell a customer that, although they dropped their phone to the bottom of a hot tub, here it is working again.
Q: What is your business’ biggest challenge?
A: The biggest challenge we have is that with all the damaged devices out there, people still don’t know that repairing is an option. Many people think that once a phone is broken, it’s done. That’s not true. We can make any phone look and function like new again. It’s rare that a phone is completely gone.
Q: Something people might be surprised to learn about you or your business:
A: Nine times out of 10, we are the cheapest option when it comes to a broken or malfunctioning device. The majority of our repairs are cheaper than what an insurance deductible would be, and always the cheaper option than replacing your phone. There are times when insurance is the cheaper option and that’s OK — we want you to be able to be back up and running with your phone using the best option.
