Work by crews to pave areas for the I-225 Rail Line will fully close major streets in Aurora starting Monday night, RTD announced.

Sable Boulevard between Alameda and Exposition avenues will close overnight Monday and remain fully closed for at least two weeks, RTD said.

Drivers traveling north on Sable Boulevard from Mississippi Avenue must go east or west on Exposition Avenue, and drivers traveling south on Sable Boulevard from Ellsworth Avenue must go east or west on Alameda Avenue.

Eastbound and westbound Iliff Avenue from Abilene to Blackhawk streets will be fully closed from  8:30 p.m. Thursday until 5:30 a.m. Friday.

RTD recommends using Evans Avenue to Blackhawk Street instead.

The I-225 Rail Line will provide regional connections to the east and southwest rail lines and is part of RTD’s voter-approved plan to expand transit in metro Denver. Voters approved the plan in November 2014.
