Put Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone’s name into the list of possible candidates to replace Jon Jones at UFC 200.
The 33-year-old Colorado native threw his hat into the ring on Thursday, tweeting that he’s “already in town” in Las Vegas.

Fighting on short notice is nothing new for Cerrone — in 2015, he fought Benson Henderson 15 days after he defeated Myles Jury at UFC 182.
“I could sit back like every other fighter and sit and wait, but I’m not every other fighter,” Cerrone said in . “I’m my own guy, and I don’t (care). Bring the fights on.”
What’s different is that he would be jumping up a couple of weight classes to take on UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, who fights at 205 pounds. Cerrone has never fought any heavier than in the 170-pound welterweight division.
During a press conference on Wednesday night, Cormier said: “I trained hard and long and if anybody would fight, I would fight. I mean, why not?”
Cormier added that he’s willing to move up to 225 pounds to fight.
Cerrone isn’t the only MMA fighter who took to social media to offer their services to face Daniel Cormier. Several of the company’s top fighters chimed in:
