Fire crews evacuated homes near a grass fire burning Thursday afternoon southwest of Loveland.

Loveland Fire Rescue Authority responded to a call about 2 p.m. in the area of Coyote Run and South County Road 29. Crews from Berthoud and Poudre Fire Authority in Fort Collins also responded.

By about 2:10 p.m., traffic on emergency radio indicated that the fire was 3 or more acres in size and burning in grass and brush.

According to the emergency radio reports, houses on Coyote Run had been evacuated as the fire burned toward them.
