BOULDER — Craig Towler, the Boulder man who lost most of his legs after being crushed between two SUVs on Monday, continues to undergo surgery, but has told friends he’s already preparing for the challenge of someday walking again.

According to an update on the GoFundMe campaign raising money for his recovery, Towler continued to undergo treatment Wednesday, two days after the crash in the 3300 block of Aurora Avenue led to amputation below his knees.

“Craig is currently undergoing a series of surgeries,” the update read. “We have been able to speak to him in between operations. He is suffering from intense phantom pains, but is displaying unimaginable strength.”

The page already had received more than $79,000 in donations as of Thursday.
