A 70-year-old man was cited Thursday night after he turned directly in front of a Colorado Springs police patrol car and caused a collision.

The crash did not cause any reported injuries, according to a police report.

Gary Fontana was cited for making an illegal left turn and drunken driving, the report says.

At 9:35 p.m., a patrol car was going southbound on Union Boulevard when Fontana, who was going northbound on Union in a Chevrolet Trailblazer, turned left in front of the police car at Collegiate Drive.

The police car struck the passenger side of the SUV.
