Re: “,” July 3 guest commentary.
I am so sorry to hear of the horrible experience that Jean Milofsky had ordering flowers by phone from a national company. I am a co-owner of a local floral shop and wanted to explain what happened to Milofsky.
Order gatherers such as the one Milofsky called are large companies that have call centers and collect orders; they take out a big relay charge and pass the order on to florists. They do not care about your orders, the quality of flowers, or the design itself.
If you call a local florist with a brick-and-mortar shop, we will take personal care of your order because it is our reputation and love of flowers on the line. We want to personalize your order to your occasion.
I hope this experience did not ruin Milofsky’s thoughtfulness of the gift of flowers.
