Three children struck by car in southeast Denver

The driver stayed at the scene at accident near Yale and Nielson

Three children have been rushed to a hospital after they were struck by a car in southeast Denver.

The accident happened around 2 p.m. at the intersection of East Yale Avenue and East Nielson Lane. The vehicle was traveling west when the accident happened, said Raquel Lopez, a Denver police spokeswoman.

One child suffered serious injuries, Lopez said. The other two were taken to a hospital, but their injuries did not appear to be serious, she said.

The driver stayed at the scene.
