A bus driver who was arrested earlier this year on suspicion of driving a school bus while under the influence has been cleared of wrongdoing.
According to a news release from the Arapahoe County district attorney’s office, the school bus driver, Michael Hobbs, was cleared when “extensive tests on the blood sample he provided showed no traces of alcohol or any illegal drugs.”
after Cherry Creek School District staff called police to report that Hobbs was not responding to his radio and that another driver suspected Hobbs was intoxicated.
at lunch before picking up students and said he had taken cold medicine. He also failed roadside tests, and a breathalyzer detected the presence of alcohol.
While charges were dropped, Hobbs was still dismissed from his job at the end of February for violating district regulations, according to a district spokeswoman.
