Alcohol is suspected as a factor in two back-to-back crashes on Interstate 25 just north of Monument early Thursday that left at least one person seriously injured.
The Colorado State Patrol says traffic was stopped in the northbound lanes as investigators reviewed the first wreck when the second happened.
In the second crash, investigators say what appeared to be a silver minivan was stopped when an “impaired driver” rear-ended it, forcing the van underneath a semi tractor-trailer.
