Vigil for Cole Sukle set for Friday night, funeral mass on Saturday

A vigil for Cole Sukle, the 14-year-old who died after last week, is set for 7 p.m. Friday.

A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday. Both gatherings will be at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 2200 S. Harrison St.

In lieu of flowers, Cole’s family is asking that donations be made to the Cole Sukle Memorial Fund at any FirstBank branch. Donations also can be .

Sukle was struck and killed July 13 near the intersection of Yale Avenue and South Madison Street. Police say he and a 13-year-old friend were struck as the pair stood on the side of the road.

Livingston is accused of careless driving resulting in death and careless driving resulting in injury. She also was suspected in an October hit-and-run crash, but charges were not filed after the victim said she did not want to pursue charges against an “elderly woman.”
