Re: July 16 Eugene Robinson column.
I am so happy to see someone of Eugene Robinson’s stature to tell the truth about race relations in this country. I always believed the racial divide existed in this country and never thought that President Obama could bring an end to this behavior. When I hear people say the country is more racially divided, I always respond that the racial divide became more visible and open because of the fear some people felt about the election of an African American to the presidency. It will take more conversations and many years to help mend the divide. I do believe that over time the next generation will help make this possible as we look at the many diverse families in the country. Congratulations to Robinson for really telling the truth about this issue.
